So you've decided to plan a celebration, perhaps a special birthday, corporate event or are recently engaged (congratulations if so!).
You've selected a date and booked your venue. Perhaps your back garden? Or maybe your dream wedding venue? You are now starting to think about how and what to feed your guests...
We have put this informative guide together to help you decide your event catering options. If you have any questions simply call us on 07538 811185 or complete an enquiry form here
Where to start
Google is always a great place to start - search by catering type and location. For example, "Indian Catering Kent". Straight away, you will be able to see reviews and links for various caterers. Take note - How is the company rated? We are very proud to be rated 5/5 across Google, Facebook and other platforms. For Weddings, Hitched, Bride Book and Married in Kent offer a vast directory of suppliers.
Food Safety, company credibility and insurance
Before you even pick up the phone to make an enquiry - check the companies hygiene rating! The last thing you want to think of on your special day are guests falling ill!
We proudly hold a 5* Hygiene Rating with our local council and are fully compliant.
Also, check if the company is registered and insured to cover you in the unlikely event of any accidents occurring during your celebration. We are an incorporated Limited Company registered with England and Wales - Company Registration number: 13324096. We hold Public, Employee and Product Insurance. You need to be aware of "Public Liability"- this should cover yourself and your guests for up to £5,000,000.
Have a budget in mind
Now you know the company has great reviews, safe food and is fully insured - think about how much you have to spend on the catering part of your event. Most companies will provide a per head charge so bear this in mind. Try not to compare caterers prices to restaurant costs - the caterer is bringing the restaurant and fully trained staff to you, and only you with your very own bespoke menu!
Deposit, Terms and Conditions
You are now ready to speak to the caterer - when you do, make sure to ask what their booking terms are and also what their Terms & Conditions include. Typically, we require a 50% deposit to secure your date with the remainder payable 14 days prior to the event date. If your event is more than 12 months away, we are happy to arrange a payment plan for you.
Deciding on your menu options
Once you have secured your booking with us, we will invite you to one of our tasting events so that you can decide on your perfect Menu! Our Menus can be viewed here
